Well its actually our anniversary today, which is very different when your long distance, especially for as long as we’ve been. We’ve been together and yet not since we were babies (well teenagers) and so it may be 9 years today, but in just over another month is the date of our first seperation, which lasted all of two weeks and was so hard, ha. thats nothing, in July it will be two years since ive seen him. which still wont beat our record (but its getting close.) How do i feel about him, well i certainly know him better, and consiquently understand him less. i dont altogether trust him, (though i wouldnt freely admit to it) but i do trust his better nature.
do we celebrate this day? no, not anymore, the way we started is so far apart from where we’ve come, its almost forgien. he stopped honoring it first (cause you know, hes a guy) and eventually i did as well, and oddly enough not because i felt foolish celebrating it on my own, but it felt like looking back on something different, and theres so much more to look forward to.
Prehaps if we ever properly reunite we can celebrate that day, the start of a new path, instead of one we abandoned long ago. Maybe thats what anniversaries should be, the celebrations of the turns rather than the starting point.
ive always wanted to write the story of our lives, i would have to jazz it up a little, but for the most part just the way it is is interesting and unusal enough. the only problem is the ending, the ending is everyining, it defines it as a comedy or tragedy, and therefore sets the tone for the whole book. i suppose the whole thing will simply have to take place over the course of more years than i planned.
You never know what the new year will bring, and this year is seems to have brought me a renewed interest in Beach Party movies. the world through the eyes of 60s drive in movies is a very different place. The fact that they made fun of the bristish invasion before it took out the genre is, well i love that. and how the main characters were always in the same story line, sort of stuck in a rut. From what i remember ill take sweden has some progression, and im trying to get my hands on it, not easy to find people with the dvds of the beach party genre. That one film ive had a craving to watch a few times over the years, i should probably look into buying a used copy or something along those lines hmm.
so i decided not to make gingerbread cookies this year, afterall not everyone likes them, i thought as an added bonus my arms wouldnt hurt (rolling out cold gingerbread dough is not easy) so i made the traditional swedish christmas cookies instead, sprintz cookies, which are made with a cookie press. except i have a really old beautiful looking italian one, and now not only my arm but my palm hurts. next year i’ll go back to making little men.
Once a month the things in the fridge come out and women climb in.
For me the first Becky represents a person who is predominately Dan and Roseanne’s daughter, overall good hearted but also selfish. the second Becky was more Mrs. Healy, it felt like if it came to a fight she would stay with Mark and the 1st Becky would leave. So when Becky Conner was on the screen theyre marriage was on the rocks and when it was Becky Healy they just might make it. Would have been awsome if they had truely used the characters accordingly. But that would be a pretty sophisticated approach for a sitcom.
Of course you could also mix reality with the show, in which case Mark dies and Becky does become a doctor.

Frankly im going to miss david tennant, he was the reason i became a who fan. The first ep i ever saw (well after i saw a train wreck of a really old ep) was s2 e1. Im sure ill learn to love the next doctor, but i feel like the current one needs a look back before it comes to an end.
Recent Eps
- The last couple of eps have been very disappointing, theres supposed to be a huge tie in coming up and my feelings may change, but i was disappointed, the writing wasnt there, the storyline wasnt there, especially after what was my favorite season to date.
Assistants – I did look back at some old eps and Sarah Jane did steal the show back then, no question shes ranking assistant. But of recent years, my favorite was Donna, no question, the only assistant not in love with the doctor helped a great deal in making her, her own character. Her wit was unmatched, and her faith was the worst that could befall a character.
The worst for me by far was Rose, im sure there are Rose fans out there somewhere, but i dont understand them. she was annoying and her intelligence, age and loyalty seemed to vary. She was self righteous and more annoyingly she was right. She was special, but not for me. I was happy to be rid of her, only it seems shes a charcter that would never say die.
Jack Harness is just fun, and completely steals the show, he just takes over everything, even the doctor. his immortality, even makes him doctor like, its almost like he is another incarnation. Torchwood gives us more of Jack, but somehow the doctor + jack is still more fun. The fact that jack could recognize the 10th variation without hesitantion suggests to me at least that this character will around for a long time to come.
Martha, she came into her own really after her season, and i sort of like that, like she was redefined after her time with him.
Well i guess Mickey counts, boring though, boring to talk about. How he kept going back to her, who knows and i dont think they ever cared enough to give him a proper 3rd dimension.
Episodes
Dont blink actally gave me nightmares, i am not allowed to watch it at night. Its not even a doctor centric ep, which i normal dont like, but that ep is fantastic.
i love the one about new new york, the traffic that goes on forever and ever. Whenever im trying to convert someone into a who fan thats the ep i show first, it has the added advantage of not having any creepy looking aliens. I find that you especially cant start someone off on the series with daleks or cybermen, theres too much backstory.
i love turn left, i like the idea that on most people the changes would be so minor not much would change and yet on Donna the whole world collapsed.
Sarah Jane
Even though Donna was the best assistant, going back Sarah Jane’s eps have something other old eps just dont seem to have. Her series, well im waiting for those boys to have growth spurts, i would love to see how the show deals with it then, i suppose the series would slowly turn into scooby doo, only without the unmaskings, while im hoping they allow theyre characters to mature a little, i have a feeling they wont be able to handle the transition, not with their demographic.
Nemesis
Sontarans
They are my favorite, theyre just cute, and sometimes can even be reasoned with. They have that James Cagney thing going on, where if they were taller they would be imtimidating, but since theyre not, theyre likable.
Daleks
Took me a while to figure out they werent called darleks actually. It took me a while to appreciate them, and i will never have the strong response a Brit has to them, but after having gone back and watched eps from the old series, im getting closer.
Master
I just love their relationship, and the master’s insanity and brillance, eps with the master are more exciting than thrilling, and therefore in some ways superior to dalek based eps.
Cybermen
Well i do like their walk, i love how you can hear them coming from so far away. I always thought they looked so retro, but of course when you go back and watch the old eps, the cyberman’s look is updated.
It’s not.
My cousin’s companies fan page, just past the 1000 mark, i was actually up just past midnight when Mr. 1000 came in. It was a good day. I thought I’d plug him on this my most unpopular blog, hmm, maybe i should rethink that. Predator Cycling a small pro bicycle shop in Santa Monica, CA. Our hometown.
